MID-EASTERN CHAPTER MEMBER STATISTICS FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 2008 Area served: Northern Virginia, Central Maryland, Washington, D.C. 424 MEMBERS 279 College Student Athletes 26 Minor Athletes 75 Adult Athletes 86 Social & Ballroom Dancers Other members (Libraries, Clubs, Dance Teams, Associate Members) THE MID-EASTERN CHAPTER USA DANCE: Incorporated in the State of Maryland in 1978 as a non-profit agency and as a subsidiary of USA DANCE, Tax-exempt 501C-(3) non-profit status is derived from National USA DANCE MID-EASTERN CHAPTER GOALS Support & Provide Social & Competitive Ballroom Dance opportunities 2008 March 29sth - SWING FLING Dance Party 2008 30th Anniversary Ball 2009 Region VI USA Dance Championships THE CRYSTAL DANCERS - DANCE GIVING MEMBERS The Crystal Dancers is an amateur dance-giving group whose members provide dance exhibitions at nursing homes, retirement homes, and who present an annual National Ballroom Dance Week event at the Springfield, VA Mall. In May, 2006 John Sinks took over role of Coordinator of the Crystal Dancers. The Chapter maintains a website for the Crystal Dancers which can be seen at  Crystal Dancers AMATEUR AND PRO-AM SUPPORT & PROMOTION The Mid-Eastern Chapter maintains a web site at MID-EASTERN CHAPTER 6001 WEB SITE 2008 CHAPTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS The Board of Directors is as follows: Jack Reinhold - President Joe Huesmann - Vice-President Sue Reinhold - Secretary Karen Zuckerstein - Treasurer Marianne Hallahan - Competitions CHAPTER FUNDING National USA Dance, once a year, provides a rebate for each member of our Chapter who is new ($7) or has renewed ($5). Late renewals or delinquencies cut down on the amount of rebate the Chapter earns. All membership fees go directly to National USA Dance $25 - Social Dancer memberships $35 - Ballroom Dancer memberships $20 - Student & Junior Competitors $60 - Adult Competitors All other funding comes from events sponsored by the Chapter. CHAPTER VOLUNTEERS The Mid-Eastern Chapter relies on volunteers. Volunteers are needed as Board Members (one year minimum term, two and three year terms available. Hospitality (Food,Drink,Dance Hosts), Membership, Events Planning, Scholarships and other programs.
